Why do I keep receiving emails from random senders with quarantined attachments? Am I in danger of getting a virus?
You are receiving these emails because your Antivirus Server has detected a virus in an email and has quarantined it to protect you from becoming infected. Usually these emails come from spoofed email addresses that don't really exist or from email addresses that existed in the address book of the infected machine where the email originated. If we installed your antivirus package, then you are running Norton Antivirus Corporate edition. The attachment is quarantined and you are alerted in case the attachment and/or email was valid. The more recent versions of this software are capable of deleting the emails entirely so you don't even receive the quarantined email. Due to the increasing volume of spoofed emails, many of our customers prefer to simply have the email deleted and turn off notification to minimize the number of messages they receive.
